Driving Test DVD Stirs up a Storm

There was a blog report not so long ago about the top driving test materials available today. We’re talking books, CDs and DVDs all aimed at helping learner drivers pass their tests.

But now there’s a new contender for the top spot: Brian Stratton’s The Driving Test: Essential Information. At just 100 minutes long (1 hour 40 mins, to you and I) The Driving Test is a DVD created to give learner drivers the most comprehensive education in driving and theory knowledge that anyone has ever seen. It’s a big ask, and the man who stepped up to the challenge was Brian M. Stratton, widely regarded as one of the DSA’s top advanced driving instructors. Put simply, what this man doesn’t know about driving tests isn’t worth knowing.

The DVD gives you a complete guide to the car, how it works, and myriad techniques for improving your driving style. There’s a rundown of the practical test itself, what manoeuvres you might be asked to perform, and all the recent changes (including the new 10-minute independent driving section).

The DVD also has a mock practical test filmed from inside the car and paired with a running commentary, so you get a real feel for what the actual test will be like.

There’s a small section on eco-driving at the end (naturally), and a few other interesting tidbits of info, like the Top 10 Test Myths section, just to keep you on your toes.

Of course, The Driving Tests: Essential Information isn’t for everyone – people without DVD players, for a start, are unlikely to buy it – but if you’re in the market for a reasonably priced (£14.99) and relatively interesting little package, then this might just be the product for you.
