Coverbox: the new car insurance kid in town

The Co-operative were one of the first companies to use black box technology, which monitors your driving style and adapts your insurance premium to suit – so you pay less if you’re a good driver, more if you’re a bad one.

But now there’s Coverbox, a new company offering competitive insurance aimed solely at young drivers, and making full use of black box technology.
Coverbox are offering a range of benefits with their new young driver scheme. The black box provides detailed information about your driving which can then be accessed on your personalised portal, where you can review all the facts and figures that comprise your driving technique.

You’re also given comprehensive insurance cover which will even provide a courtesy car should yours break down. Furthermore, you’re also given a free ‘theft tracking’ device, which is fitted to the car and which will be able to track your car should you ever report it stolen to the police. For a young driver (who rarely has a modern, expensive car) this is possibly not much of an issue, but the loss of a car of whatever value always causes unnecessary hassle.

Furthermore, the inclusion of both the black box and theft tracking device is what makes Coverbox car insurance so affordable.

It is worth pointing out, though, that Coverbox themselves don’t provide the insurance. They are, essentially, the middle man. You choose an insurer from a list of companies that Coverbox deals with, get your quote, and pay your premium. Coverbox install the black box and tracking device, and then the rest is pretty straightforward. You go out driving, the black box tells you how good you are, and your insurers use that information to recalculate your premium throughout the year.

It’s the perfect scheme for young drivers who own their own cars (useless if you share a car, as the black box will take into account the driving styles of any other users as well) and is one of a growing number of companies who have seen the potential benefits of black box technology.

So why not get ahead of the curve and get yourself a quote. It might just surprise you how much you can save!
